Stone Countertop Installer – New Haven County

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the installation of natural stone, porcelain, and quartz countertops and slab walls within the tri-state and New England area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes installation projects, individually and as a crew in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Execute assigned project from start to finish meeting expectations.
  • Provides direction and supervision to helper ensure project is completed safely and in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Manage material and equipment allocation to the team.  Ensure tools and supplies are fully operational, clean, and utilized in the manner they are permitted for.
  • Communicate effectively directly with customers, contractors, and other personnel.
  • Awareness of job status and requirements.  Consistently communicates with supervisor job status calling out any changes, problems, concerns, or discrepancies.
  • Load and unload material.
  • Drive delivery trucks.
  • Enforce and promote safety standards, including proper lifting, handling techniques, personal protective equipment, and general housekeeping.
  • Conducts field measurement and templating where required.  Provides basic drawings for the fabrication team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous countertop installation experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of carpentry and/or tiling is preferred.
  • Additional experience as a maintenance person or kitchen/bathroom installation is beneficial.

ESSENTIAL JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Good communications skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up 80 lbs. without assistance and ability to lift as a team.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and frequently climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, and be able to travel out of state.
