Logistics Coordinator

SUMMARY:

Works steadily, carefully, and efficiently, following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), environmental sanitation policies such as Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) Programs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment or frequency.
  • Oversee the movement and distribution of finished goods in a timely manner.
  • Maintain metrics, reports, process documentation, customer service logs or training or safety records.
  • Implement specific customer requirements, such as internal reporting or customized transportation metrics.
  • Resolve problems concerning transportation, logistics systems, imports or exports or customer issues.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
  • Participate in carrier management processes, such as selection, qualification or performance evaluation.
  • Monitor product import or export processes to ensure compliance with regulatory or legal requirements.
  • Ensure carrier compliance with company policies or procedures for product transit or delivery.
  • Strategically plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation and customer services.
  • Maintains presentable appearance and demeanor with customers, and practices safe work regulations in the workplace.
  • Meet cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets. Create and manage budgets.
  • Ensure that the GMP, HACCP, and Food Defense Plans are followed daily. Report to Vice President, Operations any problems that compromise product Safety, Quality and Security.
  • Manage and develop logistics staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • HS Diploma required; Associates preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of applicable experience.

REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Work effectively in diverse team and fast paced environment.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities/task in a fast-paced work environment with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written, required.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational, time management skills.
  • Able to meet short- and long-term deadlines.
