Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Payroll Specialist to manage all payroll functions for construction-related projects and field employees. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including prevailing wage laws and union reporting requirements.
Key Responsibilities:

Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for construction workers, subcontractors, and field staff.

Verify timesheets, job codes, and cost allocations to ensure payroll accuracy.

Ensure compliance with union rules, Davis-Bacon Act, certified payroll reporting, and prevailing wage requirements.

Maintain and update employee payroll records, including benefits, deductions, and taxes.

Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timekeeping, and earnings.

Prepare and submit certified payroll reports to government agencies as required.

Coordinate with HR and project managers to track new hires, terminations, and personnel changes.

Assist with audits, reporting, and reconciliations related to payroll.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field preferred.

2+ years of payroll experience, with a focus on construction or union payroll strongly preferred.

Knowledge of construction industry regulations, prevailing wage laws, and certified payroll processes.

Experience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, QuickBooks, or construction-specific systems like Foundation or Viewpoint).
