SUMMARY

 Engage Staffing, a boutique temporary staffing agency located in Bridgeport, CT is looking for a bilingual recruiter to help grow our business.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying and sourcing bilingual candidates: Bilingual recruiters use their expertise to identify and source candidates who are fluent in both English and Spanish. We use various channels such as job boards, social media, and professional networks to find the right candidates.
  • Screening and interviewing candidates: Bilingual recruiters screen and interview candidates to ensure that they meet the requirements of the job. They assess the candidate’s language proficiency, work experience, and cultural fit.
  • Providing language support: Bilingual recruiters provide language support to both the agency and the Spanish speaking population. They act as a liaison between the two parties, ensuring that communication is clear and effective.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulations: Bilingual recruiters ensure that the agency follows all regulations related to hiring bilingual candidates. They are knowledgeable about the legal requirements and ensure that the agency follows them.

 Job Fair Coordination: Work with other programs and organizations to grow our candidate pool throughout Connecticut.

 Networking: Make Engage Staffing known to community organizations. Providing Bilingual staffing services to the community members.

 ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Completing paperwork: Completing paperwork can be a challenge for individuals who don’t read or write in English. You will need to help with filling out forms, translating documents, or finding alternative ways to complete paperwork.
  • Providing training and support: Providing training and support can be challenging if individuals don’t speak English. You may need to provide training materials in their native language, applications, informational documents etc. You may need to navigate Spanish speaking clients through the paychecks flex (payroll system) registration process.
  • Ensuring cultural fit: Individuals who don’t speak English may come from different cultural backgrounds, which can make it challenging to ensure that they’re a good fit for our clients. You may need to take extra steps to ensure that candidates understand the culture and values of the client. This role may require you to mediate conversations between employer and employee in regard to performance improvements and cultural understanding of a client accepting constructive criticism or being instructed on how to do a job.
  • Navigating legal requirements: Legal requirements can be challenging to navigate if individuals don’t speak English. Candidates may need help with understanding legal documents.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for own work and not required to direct or supervise other personnel but may occasionally instruct/or show another employee how to perform the work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the Spanish language
  • Have a passion for recruiting and helping people get connected to employment

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Advanced computer skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and data management systems

Job Type: Full-time

  • Monday to Friday
  • Occasional weekend coverage, this is limited

 Experience:

  • 1-2 years of recruiting experience preferred
