Job Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Shop Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating machine tools to produce precision metal parts, tools, and instruments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and quality of manufactured components in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate various machine tools including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC machines.

  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.

  • Measure, examine, and test completed parts for accuracy using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot machines to ensure efficient and safe operation.

  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues.

  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Monitor inventory of materials and request supplies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or technical certification in machining preferred.

  • Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar manufacturing role.

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.

  • Familiarity with CNC machinery and manual machining tools.

  • Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.

  • Ability to lift and move heavy materials as required.
