SUMMARY:
Responsible for the oversight of daily kitchen operations and food programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Orientation, supervision, training, scheduling, and delegation of assignments to volunteers.
- Maintain sanitary conditions in accordance with State of CT Public Health regulations.
- Obtain and maintain appropriate city and state food licenses.
- Maintain kitchen appliances and insure sage operation of same.
- Menu planning and implementation.
- Delegate daily pick up of food donations.
- Responsible for ordering and pick up of items from CT Foodshare.
- Record volunteer hours, meal served, and client statistics.
- Monthly and weekly reports to Food Bank and Executive Director.
- Coordinate on-site weekend and evening mean schedule.
- Coordinate use of kitchen facilities by outside groups.
- Maintain monthly calendar on-site and off-site community meals for patrons.
- Maintain stock of cleaning, household, and kitchen supplies.
- Assist in creation and revision of kitchen procedures, policies, forms, and logs.
- Assist with public relations efforts.
- Attend staff meetings.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3 – 5 years food service experience preferred.
- ServSafe certifications will be required.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
REQUIRED JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Demonstrate maturity, good judgement, and the ability to respond quickly and calmly in crisis situations.
- Able to follow directions.
- Strong communications skills, conflict resolution skills, and crisis intervention skills are required.
- Able to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and related software.
- Self-starter and team oriented.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Motivated to end hunger through daily service and with internal and external collaboration.
- ServSafe Certification must be obtained and Coordinator must follow Food Bank guidelines.
